Report to come

Dressed in saris!

Posted December 1, 2008 by stdavidsprimary
Categories: Gallery, Writing, Yellow Class

The reception girls came into the Yellow Classroom dressed in saris! There were black and blue scarves with green and yellow tops with some girls wearing black trousers with red flowers. All these clothes were borrowed as they belonged to Miss John’s little niece! Yellow class are now writing poems about these clothes but they have to be simple as the reception children are going to read them.

panto

On the 1st December, in the afternoon, the whole school walked into hall and sat down to watch “Dick Whittington.”

“It was really fun to watch and I liked because we got to do things,” reported one child, “I liked the chewits afterwards!” There was lots of shouting and grown ups will surely remember it as most photos will show them plugging their ears!

The pantomime was performed by Chaplin’s Pantos http://www.chaplinspantos.co.uk/ and was funded through the generosity of MOTO, who have adopted our school.

Preparations for the Christmas Play

coverOur Christmas play is Sheik, Rattle and Roll. Roll is a big, jolly person whereas Rattle is snakelike, sinister and knowledgeable. If you want to know about Sheik then think Elvis Presley! We are learning lots of songs and me and my friend Ellie have to learn the piano parts to them. We have to make all the costumes for the characters, although we ahve found some trousers for Sheik, and with only 17 days to go we don’t even know who we are playing! YIKES! We do need to know pretty quickly because to make the costumes we need measurements of the people who will be wearing them!
